About Us
More than 30 years service to credit professionals.
Organized in 1977, Printing Industry Credit Executives (PICE) is a nonprofit association of financial, credit and collection professionals including more than 80 of North America’s leading printing firms and related vendors.
Primary Goal: To help credit professionals in these industries reduce bad debt and thereby increase profitability by providing educational and networking opportunities, as well as a forum for sharing factual credit experience on mutual customers.
Governance: PICE is governed by a seven-member board of directors elected annually from the membership and serviced by a professional firm with more than 45 years experience managing credit groups.
History of Printing Industry Credit Executives, Inc.
Prior to PICE’s formation in 1977, the sources available for obtaining reliable credit references and credit experience on customers in the printing, paper and related industries were scarce. Potential customers provided hand-picked references guaranteed to give only positive information. Credit agency reports were often inaccurate or incomplete, and expensive.
The founding members of PICE recognized that the best sources for reliable, up-to-date information were companies in similar industries. Major printing firms were invited to establish a communications network to share credit experience.
At a meeting in Chicago, 34 participating companies agreed to become charter members of what they named The Printing Industry Credit Executives, Inc. Since that time, through troubled times and recessions, PICE has continued serving the needs of its members.
