Printing Industry Credit Executives, Inc.

There are literally tens of thousands of trade associations in the United States and Canada. These associations provide a variety of benefits to their members. However, many of these benefits are difficult to quantify since they are intangible in nature.

Intangible benefits are associated with a PICE membership as well. The opportunity to network with other printing industry credit executives is, for example, one such benefit that is difficult to measure. Nonetheless, many PICE members attach great meaning to networking, and they regularly attend the association's spring and fall meetings.

While the intangibles are nice, it is the tangible benefits of PICE membership that keep North America's leading printing and affiliated companies coming back to PICE year after year. When PICE members were contacted in a recent informal survey and asked to put their thoughts about the association into words, many members focused on how the PICE credit tools save them money.

David Shepherd of Cadmus had this to say: "We could not function without PICE. I can't tell you how many times our business has been protected from potential bad debts through the reporting services provided by PICE. The savings of one bad debt has more than paid for our membership in PICE for over the last ten years!"

Ken Grohowski from St. Ives agreed: "The information I receive from PICE is invaluable to me and has helped me to make better informed decisions when extending credit terms to publishing companies, ad agencies, retail accounts, etc. You name the business segment that does printing and seven times out of ten you will get a member that will provide you with detailed and accurate information."

Judi Pool of Times Printing Company summed up the feelings of many of her peers: "Before I run a D&B report or check references provided by a credit applicant, I turn to the PICE network to ask other printers about their experiences with my potential customer. I have justified the small cost of membership many times over by preventing even one bad debt, much less many!"

Yes, there are intangible benefits associated with PICE membership, but it is the tangible benefits that are the true secret to our more than 25 years of continuous success.
