with Sales Tax Regulations”.
Sales taxes
are becoming more of a problem than ever before, as states scramble to generate
revenues. Although many sales tax issues are local, there are some common
threads that can be used as guidelines. Mike Goral of BDO Seidman will cover
some of the following topics:
- Use taxes (with mail order catalogue examples)
- Recent Supeme Court cases
- Escheatment: How long to retain records, when to turn
over funds
- …as well as other timely topics

is a constantly evolving issue, which make our jobs easier and more difficult
at the same time. PICE attorney Jim Anderson will bring us up to date on the
current status of these regulations and their impact on the credit department

An exciting credit management software package available through Credit Strategy includes credit evaluation and credit limits, collections and deduction management. Jim Batterson of Credit Strategy will demo and explain the system and what it can do for us.

Table Workshop Session - Maximizing the effectiveness of the credit department
Increased
workload and diminishing staffs mandates even greater productivity and
efficiency. We’ll share ideas and information with a view toward improving the
credit department and its performance. In addition we’ll address topics or
questions from the floor

This
session is being revamped to become more a learning experience, and less a
numbers one. Participants will be asked to concentrate more on the causes and
handling of their problem accounts, sharing insights and methods. In requesting
accounts for discussion members will be asked to:
- Select
for discussion accounts with which they have current, substantial exposure
- Explain
the reason for the inquiry
- Be
prepared with updated ledger experience
- Add any
other pertinent information

session is monitored by PICE attorney to insure that it conforms to legal
guidelines governing the exchange of credit information)
