2:00-3:00PM:

Business as Usual in Times that Aren’t” – Delos Smith

Delos Smith, Senior Business Analyst at The Conference Board, is regarded as an authority on the world’s leading economic indicators. He is also an enjoyable speaker, who puts complex and often confusing economic data into delightful English. Among his topics:

  • How the economies and markets affect each other
  • Which numbers are important, and how to use them
  • What the numbers are saying
  • Economically speaking, where are we, and where are we going?

 

These topics should also shed light on the state of the printing industry as it relates to the world economy

Update on pending changes in Bankruptcy Legislation

Local bankruptcy attorney and Chapter 7 Trustee Claude Lightfoot will explain the changes that are expected to be signed into law within a few days, and how these changes affect business credit

Increased workload and diminishing staffs mandates even greater productivity and efficiency. We’ll share ideas and information with a view toward improving the credit department and its performance. In addition we’ll address topics or questions from the floor

This session is being revamped to become more a learning experience, and less a numbers one. Participants will be asked to concentrate more on the causes and handling of their problem accounts, sharing insights and methods. In requesting accounts for discussion members will be asked to:

  • Select for discussion accounts with which they have current, substantial exposure
  • Explain the reason for the inquiry
  • Be prepared with updated ledger experience
  • Add any other pertinent information
